Espn's Ted Miller disses Shane Vereen

I dont know how many people follow espn's Ted Miller's blog on espn.com but he recently listed a top 25 list of players in the pac-10 for 2010. Shane Vereen did not make the list. I know that on lists like these there will always be snubs, similar to how there are snubs at an all star game. but come on Ted, how could you not include Shane Vereen. Further examination of the list shows complete disrespect for Vereen who rushed for 953 yards last year on only 183 carries averaging 5.3 yrds per carry and 12 touchdowns while backing up Jahvid Best. Thats right he was a backup! He didnt even start a game until after the Oregon St game. Not to mention that Vereen also had 25 catches for 244 yrds with shoddy quarterback play and spotty offensive line play. In otherwords all things considered Vereen showed that he was a beast last year. Miller lists Kai Forbath of FUcla a friggin kicker ahead of Vereen ranked at 25. He also ranked Cameron Jordan ahead of Vereen. No disrespect to Cameron Jordan but he shouldnt even be on this list. Cameron Jordan is certainly talented and very capable of becoming a NFL prospect but he has been inconsistent and really hasnt fulfilled his potential. I remember many games where him and also the whole D-line for that matter disappeared in 2009. I really dont understand how Vereen who I feel may end up being better than Jahvid Best can get dissed on this list. Vereen is only half a step slower than Best so he has homerun ability, but is better than best in between the tackles because he runs at a lower center of gravity and falls forward, whereas Best ran upright and would often get knocked backwards, which is bad because it can set your team up for 2nd and long and 3rd and long. Vereen is going to rush for 1500-2000 yrds this year as Cal's feature back, with 15-20 tds and catch 30-40 balls and get 300-500 receiving yards as long as he stays healthy. Hard to see how Ted doesnt forsee Vereen being one of the top 25 players in the Pac-10. Surely he will be in Ted's postseason top25 if not his top 10. I normally like Ted's blog but in this case he missed one for sure.
