Cal's Dominance at Memorial Stadium

Cal fans certainly have reason to be optimistic this season considering that Cal plays seven home games this season.  In the last four seasons, Cal is a combined 22-4 at Memorial Stadium and during the last two cycles of this portion of the home schedule (Cal alternates home games in the Pac-10 every year, for example this year Cal is USC away and UCLA home), Cal is 14-0. If Cal manages to run the table at home again this season like in the past two cycles as in 06'and 08', then it only leaves road games at USC, Oregon St, Nevada, Washington St, and Arizona left.  If Cal can manage to win 4 out of 5 on the road, then it puts them in a likely Rose Bowl berth. I would say that Washington st is likely going to be a win and although Nevada seems like a stingy team, it would still be an upset if Cal lost that game.  Especially considering the fact that the Nevada game is likely going to have a pretty big Cal turnout in Reno. So although it is a road game I would expect the Nevada road game to be as close to a home game as it gets.  This leaves the USC game, Arizona game and Oregon St game where Cal is going to either be underdogs or toss ups.  I would say the Arizona game is a tossup, but if we play well then Cal should win.  The game against Oregon st is going to be tough, as Mike Riley seems to always has his players ready to play Cal.  USC, as always will be a tough game for Cal to win.

  1. That Oregon game is going to be a humdinger. That would could easily be for the Rose Bowl. It is nice to get them at home.

  2. It will be a tough game, but we have never lost to Oregon at home in the Tedford era.
